How The Brownie Owl Came To Flight...
Learning To Fly
It all started in 2013 from a tiny kitchen in an old cotton mill in Stockport, with a gem of an idea, lots of hope, and more than a few crossed fingers.
After a brainstorming session with family members over what the business should be called, my sister came up with 'The Brownie Owl' and the name just felt perfect straight away.
Working as an Interior Decorator at the time, I armed myself with a couple of baking books, had several baking sessions at home, and handed out the fruits of my hard work to friends and family.
One family member owned a cafe in Widnes, Cheshire, and 24 hours after putting our Cookies & Cream Brownies on his counter, he sold out and placed his first order.

With this confidence under my belt I tried baking a few more flavours, took a leap of faith, and promptly booked onto a local Producers Market, hoping for the best!
We had an exhilarating time, we sold out again, receiving amazing feedback from the market customers, and to cut a long story short - The Brownie Owl took flight!
Spreading Our Wings
Nowadays the business operates from the commercial kitchen we created in an empty unit on a business park, just outside Manchester City Centre.
We have a small team of busy owls baking and delivering to coffee shops and restaurants all over the city centre and surrounding area.
We take great pride in our work and in the business we’ve created, and therefore we only release a limited number of new products each year. These products are lovingly worked and re-worked until we are 100% happy with them.

As well as the great relationships we build with the cafés we supply, we also work with Independent Catering Companies, local businesses and others in the hospitality industry around the North West, and we still love trading at the Heaton Moor Producers Market where we first met our community.
